Running my marathon!

I started running 4 years ago after the birth of my twins as a way to get my fitness back. At first it was hard but not long after I became addicted to running. The heavy controlled breathing helped my anxiety and the freedom that came with it...felt like I was running away or perhaps escaping from life sums it up better.
In two weeks time I will be at the startline of my 2nd marathon. My first one was a virtual race so not that excitingat all but this year is real with spectators and medals and all the bells and whistles.

For the past 12 weeks I have been very committed to my 16 week training program and although it was hard training in the rain during the winter months I am proud to say that I was able to stick training 95%. I covered over 600km so far and will reach my 1000th km for this year very soon.

Today I did one of my last interval sessions and the race tapering has started slowly. Then the waiting game to raceday starts

I am truely blessed to live in one of the most beautiful cities around the world. I live 2.5km away from the iconic Blouberg beach in Cape Town and one never gets tired of these views surrounding us.

Here's to a successfull marathon in 2 weeks. Holding thumbs that all will go well.

I will post a follow up post showing off my new shiny medal🎖

Always be a better you!
