Troubleshooting, Harvests, Wash, Leveling Pad, Spokane County Fair - Thursday

Yesterday morning I had to go checkout the night lighting at a client's house that was not working. Found that the timer was dead, as I turned it past the time on it did nothing. I check continuity across the hot lead of the time and it never connected while the ground lead never disconnected. Thankfully a cheap fix as the lighting transformers are nearly $1k.

Back on the farm I got out to harvest finally. The cucumbers were more than ready and had 64 for me. I should have an order for 100 to go out on Tuesday which I will more than have enough for.

I got my clothes washed and on the line to dry. The sun had them dry within a couple hours.

The squash had some moose as I had let them go a couple days. 30 pounds barely fit in the tub. I had a couple boxes of cucumbers that got dumped to the animals as they had turned. I know I have a box or two of squash that need to go as well.

Then around noon I was back at work on the hangar pad. I used the wheelbarrow to move the dirt this time and was able to cut the pad back a good ways.

The box with the hangar parts is heavy and I was not able to move it easily so I went and got my hay hooks which gave me the extra reach to be able to drag it across the yard to the pad.

The pad is now big enough to build on, I just have to level more on each end but that is well outside the footprint of the hangar.

Looked it up and found that I have the model b 2.58 gear box on the motor and found the parts breakout for it. I checked on the spark plugs for the type which is a super easy one to find.

@stryeyz got off work early and we all headed down to the fair. There was a good sized line to buy tickets to get in so we got them online quick and bypassed the line.

We made a pass through the buildings looking at the tables but little was sticking out. There is a LOT less of the regular booths and tables inside and now mostly just local businesses hawking their services. We then headed to the produce displays. It is always interesting to see the different produce and compare what I grow against it. I used to enter produce but it is a lot of work to do and ended up not really worth my time.

We headed over to the kids ride area and on the way we were able to watch the last of the high divers fall into the big pool of water. He was up a good 50 feet.

He did a simple backwards pike dive and dove straight into the water.

After the boys had fun in the science area. The massive bubble wands were cool but I couldn't quite catch the bubble before it popped.

I do love how the boys are always drawn to stem type stuff.

The giant slide was the only thing both boys went on together.

No rides for us and this is the biggest ride in the fair. It spins as it rotates and all you hear is screams while it is in motion.

The fair is always an interesting place to observe "humans in their natural habitat". I will sometime have Attenburough's voice narrating in my head as I people watch. It's silly seeing the mass range in "peacocking" with some of the most absurd looking outfits people wear. Not sure why the fair is the place that they feel the need to be so outlandish. It's not Mardi Gras or Halloween... Whatever, it is an interesting show none-the-less.

Cool sunset as we headed for the exit and the crowds streamed in.

Not long after getting home we were out soaking. All the walking around the fair had my lower back and hips super sore after all the shoveling and heavy lifting/moving I have been doing. I managed an hour before I had to get out. It still only does so much for my extra sore and tight muscles.

I have no co-op delivery this morning which I am fine with. I will be working on the plane to-do list today which is 33 items long. Mainly the hangar today and retrofitting it to be taller as I have to cut extensions for each leg, I have to gather all my best wire for the plane rewiring as I am going to properly wire it so it is clean, solid, and water tight. Then the tobacco leaves are dry and need to be crumbled and bagged, pick tomatoes, go up to the upper garden to check on squash, and hopefully grill for dinner tonight.
