Hot Tub Drain Fill, Co-op, River, Buying My Flight Star 2 E-LSA Plane, Harvests, Runway Potential, School Open House - Tuesday

Such a busy day yesterday. Started the morning nauseous from nervousness about the plane. It was pretty unusual for me but I figured out what was going on though I still felt funky. First thing I did fr the day was get the hose on the drain and the tub emptying after the vinegar cycled through for nearly 24 hours. I set it to drain and then the boys and I headed for the co-op drop off.

7 cucumbers was all I delivered but that was okay with me as we were to go see the plane.

We had a half hour to kill waiting for him to meet us so we went down to the Spokane river to wander a bit.

The city built a ramped walkway/sidewalk that goes along the bridge and the boys fun climbing on the wall. It is a perfect 200 foot long traverse.

We went to the gas station and a few minutes later David showed up and we followed him out to Otis Orchards where the plane is hangared. It's even better in person everything looks incredible. The motor has 90 hours on it and the air frame maybe 300. The motor turned but we didn't start it as it has old fuel in it and I have to go through and do a good cleaning and make sure the motor is perfect.

The ballistic reserve chute is old and I will be contacting the company to inquire about getting it tested as it is a decade past its date. It has been in the case the whole time so likely is still just fine but the rocket is kinda what I am more concerned with as it HAS to fire when triggered.

Dual controls, standard gauges which will get an update over time. The windshield needs to have trim put on the edge as it is bare now. I have a lot of cleaning to do over the entire thing.

I looked in my flight log and my last flight in a Cessna 150 was 9/16/98 and my plane was built a year later. Now 25 years later I have my plane and will soon be flying again.

I gave him a $2k check to hold it for me and then @stryeyz got the cash from the bank on the way home from work so today I will be going and paying for them. I was shaking the entire day out of excitement and nervousness.

Back home the tub had drained much of the water out and I figured out the easiest means of getting all the water out fastest.

I pushed all the water sitting on the seats off to the bottom where I used my submersible pump to get the vast majority of the water removed before I used the water cannon to suck the last of the water up. I got the hose in and it filling then.

The boys and I took all the school supplies to the school about 12:30 and they were super happy to have them. We provided one complete school supply set for each of the grades considering a number of families lost homes and they have kids of all ages.

Finally I got out to pick in the garden and pulled 15.5 pounds of squash.

A bit later I went up the green house row and pulled a handful of carrots.

I couldn't help myself and went for a wander up the hill in search of open spaces. I walked down the upper pen and near the south end I found an area that could possibly be made into a big enough area for a small runway. There is about 200 feet of distance and about 10 trees would have to be cut down.

It would be really tight but it would be a SICK take off at about 200-210 degrees WSW. For now I will be keeping this in my head for down the road.

Then the property to the south has a pretty open area but the trees are pretty tall and would be a bit tricky to clear.

This is the other end looking towards the edge. There is a big tree right behind me that is a natural end to it.

@stryeyz was able to get the cash from the bank so I called David to let him know and that I would be down today to get it to him. After she got home we got the boys' supplies packed in their bags and headed to the school for the open house. We met both their teachers, they got to put their supplies in the rooms, see TONS of their friends, and then we went to the cafeteria for hotdog dinner.

Today is the day! First day of school for the boys, I become a plane owner, I have to figure out how I am going to get them home, need to order the portable garage to store them in, decide where the garage will get put, and try to remain calm as I am still a ball of nerves this morning.
