Harvests, Bee, Waters, PDC, Haircut, Trimming, Freeze Dryer Batch 90, Grilling - Saturday

While it was cooler yesterday morning I got harvests done. A nice batch of summer squash ended up getting combined with the rest into a box in the cooler.

The few peas left got picked and dumped into one of the bags in the cooler. The heat has whacked the peas so they are being left to go to seed now so I will have for next year. 55 pounds of peas this year in total.

All the sunflowers were aimed at the rising sun.

And the bees were well at work. This one was getting totally coated in pollen.

The chard had bolted so I went through the row and topped them all.

I got an armload that I took and tossed to the sheep who devoured it quickly.

The waters all got refilled and I have to do something to keep the turkeys from perching over them and shitting in the tubs.

In the greenhouse I pulled a big weed and behind it sat this raspberry that had found its way in. I pulled it up and got a good bit of root with it so I shoved it in a pot to see if it will live.

Semi finals in the PDC saw Humphries beat Wade and MVG beat Smith. The final is today.

I was at the board for a while and was trying my damnedest to get a bull and then it happened. Sunk the first bull, then the second, then stuck the 60 for a 160.

J had wanted his haircut for a long time and we finally got to it.

I gave him a high and tight and he felt lots better in the heat.

About 5 days between having to empty the bug catch. The birds love it as there is still semi live bugs that they quickly attack.

The monster raffle happened and of course I did not win, was close on 2 draws but no winner.

In the greenhouse I picked up the spider plant and found that a few had rooted through the bricks...

So I set the pot on something higher to keep them from doing the same.

With it a bit shaded I took the pole saw out and worked on a number of trees with dead lower branches.

Then I cut out a bunch of dead stuff along the creek. I have to figure out where to pile it all out of the way until burn season hits again.

It's has been a long time since the last batch was run in the freeze dryer so it's good to have it going again. This batch gets 5 full trays of peas.

Thankfully it ran all night when it was cooler and I have the fan exhausting out the window so hopefully today the house will stay cool.

Today is to be 105F then the cool down begins. Have harvests early, then we are taking the boys to Flight 509 which is an arcade and jungle gym type place, PDC final is on mid day, then this afternoon will be trying to stay cool.
