Grainless Run, Harvests, Hay Run, Batch 82 Started, Jammie Dodger - Saturday

Yesterday morning I went to town for no reason. I had not read the text closely enough to see that they were brewing on Saturday, NOT that the barrels would be ready on Saturday. So I drove into town and dropped 3 empty barrels off then drove all the way home for a colossal waste of gas.

I drove home rather unamused but at least the bypass was back open finally.

Out harvesting I managed to get 18 cucumbers and the first Armenian cucumber which weighs 2 pounds.

The squash had just shy of 20 pounds ready which puts me at a shit ton in the cooler that I need to sort through desperately.

It was 1ppm when I got the text that I could go get hay so I headed over to pickup 3 bales. Lee had 4 bales of 2nd cutting left so I got 3 of them and he is saving the 4th for me for this next week.

It's pretty nice on the west prairie where loads of hay is grown.

The 3 bales back on the farm I had to get them off the trailer.

The fastest and easiest way I have found is to tip them using one of the straps wrapped around the tree.

I then pull the truck forward and the bale tips onto its side so I can then roll them.

The 3 bales went onto the pallet and then got each got covered with a pallet cover. I am not giving the sheep a bale yet as I will be getting 2 bales of first cutting and the one bale of second cutting on Wednesday so I will give them a first cutting then. I want to save the second cutting for winter.

The truck and trailer were then ready for this morning's grain run I have already done.

@stryeyz got the trays filled for batch 82 in the freeze dryer. 3 trays of diced tomatoes and 2 trays of cucumbers are all in now and they will all be getting powdered once done.

During the day J got into the Doctor Who cookbook and made Jammie Dodgers. They came out great!

I made sure to get everything ready for this morning so I could get into town as soon as possible. It was a later morning but the traffic wasn't horrible, although there were some serious assholes I got behind a few times. The north round-about on the bypass was closed due to something happening at 2am and no clue why it would still be closed at 7am.

I have gotten grain already and this won't be dumped here. We will be heading up to pickup our bison at noon then we will head up to our friend's house to sort the bison as we are splitting it with them and I will dump the grain all out there.
