I've been debating what my next post should be, so here it is. Over the summer, my house burned down. One of the things that was lost, was who knows how many years of Christmas decorations. All the other holidays were tucked up in the garage but for some reason, I decided to just stuff the Christmas things in the back utility room. Maybe the garage was getting crowded or maybe I was feeling shitty, I don't remember. But, all the hand-made ornaments from 20+ years of children's imagination? Gone. Countless heirlooms that will never see another holiday. Such is life. So, if anyone needs some Christmas ideas out there? Deco and ornaments.
Dragon Eggs
Being born in the year of the dragon, the Dragon Princess @lunamoon, saw it fitting to seek out some dragon eggs over the weekend. These aren't just any eggs, they come from the far reaches of the most severe climates and secretive of places known to any species.
The Fire Egg
This egg has been squeezed in agony from the birth hole of a mighty Fire dragon. To even lay the egg, she has to travel to the frigid Tundra of Zero, where only a few species of dragon can bear. They come out so incredibly hot, they must be lain in the frozen wastes of the tundra. It cools quickly there, and no harm is done to the dragon. To find one of these, is a true treasure.
The Water Egg
Similar to the Fire dragons, the Water dragons' eggs are born burning cold. Some of them evolve into Ice dragons and such is the trial of birth. These must be lain in the craggy Volcanoes of Sear, upon which, they are warmed enough to hold and carry beyond the terrain. Only Water dragons and a few other relatives can stand the heat, and are but a handful of the ones you'll see in the Sear. Being born under a fire sign, @freyamber has no trouble handling them.
The Earth Egg
These are still a mystery as to how they are lain or even hatched. @khaldeesi may know the secret, as she now possesses one of the extremely rare eggs. All that is really known, is that the Stone dragons we walk across as mountains in temperate climates, piles of rubble in the forests and the steppes in arid zones, come to life every so often to feed and breed. These are only known to have been found in the deepest of wooded areas, usually within hidden caves, not on the maps of man.
So now, we wait for the hatching. Each egg has a unique and mystifying glow about them, almost as if you can see the life force contained within. I remember as a youth, I once transported a few eggs that hatched on me. The eggs never made it to their destination and I was punished severely - almost. Upon seeing my new entourage, I was pardoned by the lords. The dragons have never been far from my side since and call me 'Daddy' in their native tongue. Dragons or no, REMEMBER TO BE YOU! I always am, even as a melancholy Santa.
