Wrong wedding got sorted out
I have a distant cousin who lives in northern part of Nigeria. he is much older than I am . There was a time like that he decided to come stay with us for a while because he needed to come get some things done in Lagos , he stays in Kaduna, I think what he wanted to get wasn't in Kaduna state, so he spoke with my dad to please let him stay with us pending the time he would be through with all he had come to do in Lagos. My daddy allowed him to come stay.
He finally came and what I saw was a grown man , we haven't seen face to face before , it was a big surprise to see him because that was the first time I am seeing a huge and handsome cousin that look almost like my dad.
One faithful day , after my daddy came back from work, he went to my dad to explain something to him about things he had in his plans .nobody knew why he came at the first place but it was lately we got to know that it was because of the wedding preparation things , he told my daddy that he had gotten a lady that she truly loved and he wants to marry her, but the issues on ground now was that his parent doesn't like the lady at all and it was because she is from another tribe ( igbo).he proceed by saying no matter what his does , he is not changing his mind on marrying her , then my told him to calm down that all would be fine.
He dropped his wedding invitations off to my dad, then the next day he went to get some of the things needed for the wedding because he has to go the following day .So the following came and he left for more preparation.
The final day of the wedding came and everybody was in a celebrating mood not until the mother of the groom came out of the sudden and started shouting " my son must not marry you whether you like or not , she was saying that to the bride and everyone was like ,what is going on exactly " .
It was a very big issue that day , that people that came for the celebration started begging the mother of the groom to please let the couple be, that far they loved each other.
Wonders shall never end, for like 40 minutes or so they were still on the matter, but to the glory of God with the pastor's intervention ,God took control.
Hausa , igbo and Yoruba ,we are one nigeria, and we can marry ourselves , let's leave aside , my son must not marry this particular tribe or my daughter must get married to the person we choose for her.
They are all wrong from my own perspective.
