Introduction

Nigeria known for hard working and peace loving people have been experienced pockets of insecurities across her shore and entire territory making it hard for her people safety and foreigners. There's fear in the land that people are not free to live their normal lives again. We now lives in fortified cities, towns and villages where soldiers mounted at every checkpoints, protecting us from our evil people internally and external influences.

The insecurities in Nigeria is fuelled by several factors. She is blessed with abundant natural resources which power many industries of the world. Greedy merchants, mostly wealthy foreigner with connections empower the irate youths with huge cash, weapons and ammunition to have a safe pass with our national treasure thereby making those areas hostile for the people.

Failed and corrupt politicians provides arms, hard drugs and weapons to the younger generations with the opinions of making the area ungovernable for the winners. These sponsored projects produces daredevil men of underworld whose joy for criminality is very high and creative to cause serious pain and sleepless nights on the people.

Kidnapping, armed robberies, killing and destruction of lives and properties are common words in every news in my country. Our roads have taken over by these hooligans and streets are filled of the urchins with red eyes on other's valuables. These criminals are nuisance to the society and hardened by the gangs' code which resulted in affecting the lost of lives and properties of the people.

Our prison system have been renamed as correction centre's but a few results of positive changes on the lives of the inmates. They are either been released when bribes have exchanged hands or through many infamous jail breaks. For example, Owerri correction complex was attacked by hooligans and they successfully released their gang members and set everyone free and recently, heavy downpour around Niger state caused the old aged correction centre buildings and fence to collapse thereby set those evil inmates free. Being at large and in the society have increased the criminality and insecurities as they went back to their former lives and perfected these acts to the disappointment of the good people of Nigeria.

However, open and public gathering which should be places of relaxation and fun. Now are places of nefarious activities. Stadium and markets are places of operation for these criminals. They specialized in pick pocketing and burglary. A young girl, a fruit hawkers was seen with tear on her eyes. Her wares, money and virginity have been taken away by those criminals. Raping have not been fully recorded and perpetrator are unpunished which lead to more crimes.

Valuables are forcefully collected from the innocent daily on the streets and homes. Still fresh on my mind when we were attack by these evil men. Although we were not hurt but all of our valuables was taken away. Any struggles with them resulted in huge blows from them as our neighbor, John nearly lost his eyes that night of ravages. It's often an expected events especially during the festive season so we are very careful and organized community security outfits with volunteers to be protected from those criminals as they needed money and goods to impress others and feel among like accomplished fellows. Such attitude endanger us and take away our joy and happiness during those events.

Finally

Insecurities have affected everyone in our society and our businesses. National orientation program including enlightenment and education projects should be employed to improve the mindset and readjust their needs so that they will appreciate hard works and peace than criminalities.

Love should be a bond that bind us together. Preacher should focus on Bible lessons than prosperity messages which are pushing these criminal minded individuals to craft evil ways to commit crime and injustices on their people.
