To me, happiness is simply what you feel within you. The moment you are contented with what you have, you are happy and it means you are emotionally satisfied which is the root of happiness of happiness for me.
Being happy is not until you have the whole world to yourself and not until you can buy expensive things but once you have inner peace of mind you are happy because money or expensive things are just material things that can leave you at any time.
What does happiness mean to me? As I said earlier, happiness is a feeling and it deals with emotions for me so nothing can give me that except for myself.
What happiness simply means to me is to live my life the way I want it and to be satisfied with what I have.
Things I need to be happy? There is nothing that can make me happy except me, my family, and my work. There are lots of people who have money and yet they are not happy, money doesn't define happiness it only adds up to it but if I should talk about what I can engage with to maintain my happiness, that would be my work.
My work gives me joy and it makes me happy because it is not easy to have it and yet I do so why won't I be happy?
I know money doesn't give happiness but why am I working? It is because of money and I am contented with my life right now. Let's now talk about the main thing that makes me happy, my family. My family is the best thing that has ever happened to me because if my mother hadn't given birth to me I can't be alive and if my sisters didn't support me I wouldn't be where I am today so everything I do I do it for me and my family.
Some years I was told that my mom was sick and I was at work, immediately after I received the call I didn't know what I was doing because a lot of things kept running through my mind. I am always happy whenever am at work so people call me the happy type but that day I wasn't happy all through because of my mom.
I didn't get myself until the day she called that she was feeling better, the same thing happened the day our last born left the house without telling my mom where he was going, she looked for him everywhere before calling me and my siblings. I couldn't sleep all through the night until the next day he came back home and then told my mom he went for a revival meanwhile he didn't have a phone to reach him on.
That day we all contributed to get him a small phone so that he could call to tell us where he was going or we could call him to know his whereabouts. You can now see how much my family means to me, without them, I can never be happy no matter how rich I am.
A lot of people will say once they have money they are happy but in my case, once my family is okay and my life is good, I am happy because money can not give me that, though it will sort things out anyway. Happiness is free and it's a thing of the heart. Although, it is not everyone that has it, but everyone deserves it.
