My Experience with My Bank During the Naira Scarcity

The Commercial Banks are one of the Most significant sector in Nigerian Banking System,

These commercial Banks functions includes Accepting Deposits, provision of Cash, Provision of Loans , Transfer of Funds and Agency Functions.

Its is no Doubt they Have been very instrumental in Driving the Finance of the Country.
I have experienced Quality Services from most of Banks i use. Honestly i was Privileged to work As a Bank Agent, i know the tireless efforts, Teamwork, Dedication and High Level of Professionalism it takes to Run Them.
They have been Really Improving their services over the years.

I have Six Accounts with different Commercial Banks which are: Access Bank, United Bank of Africa, Guarantee Trust Bank, Union Bank, First Bank and Sterling Bank Respectively.

Each of Which have distinct quality and some levels of satisfaction. However there are many things that needs Improvement.
Many of these Banks Have a Very poor customer service representative, these set of staffs can destroy the reputation of the Bank Branch due to how the attend to Customers, lack of professionalism and Nonchalant attitude towards work.
High bank charges too is getting unbearable, although this is majorly caused by some of the Policy and Compliance from the Apex Bank(Central Bank of Nigeria), others are due to the Bank Greediness and act of extortion,
poor Account Security, dysfunctional Apps and Poor Network.

I will be sharing My Experience at the Bank During the Naira Scarcity.

During late December 2022, the C.B.N Governor (Governor Emefiele) Rolled out two Policy, The Naira Redesign Policy and Cash Withdrawal Limit, which the Implementation was so poor that it caused Hardship, pains and suffering on many Nigerian accross the Country. Although both could have made a positive impact on the Economy but the Timing and Implementation is so Bad.
During that time a directive was given out that the Old #1000, #500 and #200 notes will cease to be a legal Tender on the 31st of January 2023.

As an Agent Banker during that time, there are Heavy workload on us, Our Services was so much in High demands in the community , that a week towards the Deadline, we sometimes close Shop By 1am Midnight.
Then we have more of Deposits to account, every body wanted to do away with their old currency. Because of this i have a lot of Money with me amounting to 3million Naira that i Have to deposit at the Bank On Monday 30th of January.

I Decided to Deposit the money in My Access Bank Account. I reached the Bank Around 7:00am only to Discover a Whole lot of People Queued Up Already, Am to queue up on a Line, and i was given number 352,
The Bank Gate was locked till around 11:00am,after which Three security Guards begin to Usher people in.
I was on the Queue till 6pm in the Evening, all of a sudden, a security Man came announcing that we are to come Back the Next Morning, That we will be giving an Instant access to the Bank the next day, I was Extremely Frustrated, Hungry And Angry to have wasted a whole day achieving nothing and the worst is that am at a very High security Risk for having such amount of Money with me,
I lodged at an Hotel, went back to the Bank and reached there at exactly 6:00am the next morning only to see even more Crowd, this was because that day was the Deadline day (Tuesday 31st of January). To cut the long unforgettable story short, i entered the Bank after so many hours of facing another Crazy queue inside the bank, i was able to deposit the Money, and a few Hours later I heard in the news that the Deadline was shifted for another three weeks 🤦
