Another banger!

Our newly inaugurated president, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has come again with another banger! Lol. It's just two weeks since the inauguration of the new president and within these two weeks, so many things have happened. So much drama has taken place and which has kept so many Nigerians wondering what his tenure is going to be like.

So many Nigerians have been thinking about what the next four years are going to be like, and frankly speaking, no one can predict what the president is capable of. There is always a clue and thoughts and assumption in everyone's mind but one can not guess how his tenure will be.

Talking of the dramas that have taken place, is the removal of subsidy on fuel when Bola Ahmed Tinubu clearly stated that Nigeria cannot be funding the subsidy on fuel for other neighboring countries. Which results in a hike in the price of fuel. And, the replacement of the CBN governor, Emefiele. Lol! So many Nigerians were happy about his replacement and then, many charges were filed against him. That is still on the ground though and investigations are still ongoing.

And top of it all, just yesterday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu signed student loans in Nigeria. This has caused an uproar in social media.. And has gotten people talking, is it a good move or a bad one?

To back up the law, it clearly states that it will provide funds for all educational materials and textbooks. Also, eligible for Nigerian students alone. There are also some exceptions for students who can take the loan. Students who have a record of being in a felony, examination malpractice cannot take the loan.

Also, repayment of the loan will be two years after the National Youth Service Corps. That is, President Bola Ahmed Timubu believes that every Nigerian is supposed to have gotten employment or have a source of income after two years of Nysc, and also, defaulters of the loan will be penalized.

There are procedures for taking the loan and each student must be eligible to take the loan before they will be granted.

Is this a good move? We will know in the long run. But in my opinion, I think it is a good idea. But, my fellow Naija on hive, what is your opinion on student loan? Is Nigeria capable of operating on this? Is it a good move?
