The Sky, Sea, Land and everything in between!

I love travelling. While I am only able to travel by road currently, it is still a pleasant experience for me despite the bad roads and stress associated with it. Why? Because I love the road. I love the thought of an endless trip. Many of my peers complain of how hectic it is to travel, but I find it exhilarating. I find that I am most at peace when I am on the road and away from it all.

Thus, for this question posed by Hive Naija for the November Inleo Day 1, one thing immediately came to my mind. If I had the power, I’d dedicate a whole month to the Holiday of Travel. I understand that people already travel during holidays like Christmas and all, but I don’t just mean saying the month of August is for travelling. I’d also make it possible for people to travel.

If I had my way and I was able to, trains, boats and planes would be made possible for this holiday. I’d sponsor the whole of the less privileged population in Nigeria to a destination of their dreams for a month. I’d make road trips a thing and fight tooth and nail to make the roads of Nigeria safe again for travels. That means declaring these bandits and kidnappers terrorists and giving a “shoot on sight” order. I will show no mercy to these demons that stand in my way.

I understand that everyone has a preferred mode of travel and if I am able, I will make it possible for people who can’t experience it. If I have my way, the sky can not be the limit.

Why travel holiday, you ask. Not everyone likes to travel. Well, we don’t know that. And while it may be true that not everyone likes to travel, there are people who do not like to travel simply because it is a demanding activity. What if I am able to take away all that stress and present you with the most beautiful avenue to see from the sky with little stress involved?

Think hot air balloons. Think ziplines. What if I can bring out the adventurous spirit you never knew existed within you? As long as you want to experience it, it will be seamless.

You are a fan of water? Think speed boats and ferries. I know there are states existing already in Nigeria that make use of the Canoe and even ferries. What if I can provide you with something more fun? Think cruise and parasailing, kayaking and windsurfing.

Are you drawn to the soil like I am? Rooted to mother nature’s very core? Think spending a day with horses and donkeys. Think camels and luxurious buses. Yes. Tour buses. Think camping under the night sky surrounded by people and laughter, hiking and trails. Think of freedom…

My mind is buzzing as always at the prospect of anything related to my passions. Travelling is a passion and if I had my way, we would have an entire month dedicated to changing scenes. Not worried or burdened by the cost of living, rather living and cherishing each moment, grateful for every counting second we are alive.
