In this opportunity I want to show you how I decorated a little old straw hat, but first, the first thing I must do is to mention to you the materials I used to transform this hat to my liking.
Materials:
- Alcohol
- Cotton
- White school glue
- Paint of different colors
- Decorative napkin
- Lacquer
- Brushes
- Scissors
The first thing I did was to clean the entire piece with alcohol, this is done with the intention of removing and remove all dirt and dust residues, also with the purpose of removing the grease that could have the hat and thus be able to work more optimally.
The next step has been to paint it white to make as a base where the other colors that are intended to place then have a good finish, but, before further painted the napkin must be pasted on the white color, the napkin I chose has a nice design that I know will be very nice in the hat, so I pasted the napkin and so you can see well all the colors that has the design of the decorative napkin.
After what I mentioned so far, I proceeded to paint it with the colors that in my opinion highlight even more the decoration of the napkin and as you can see in the images, I placed a vanilla color on the top, and turquoise color on the bottom, then I made a mixture of two colors, olive green and olive green to place it on the edges of the hat.
Finally I put some hairspray to give protection to the colors of the hat and also to fix well what I have done. I really hope you liked how I decorated this piece and later on I will show you other decorations I have been doing.

VERSIÓN EN ESPAÑOL
Decorando un bello sombrero de paja
Hola a todos en esta bella comunidad.
En esta oportunidad les quiero mostrar cómo decoré un sombrero un poco antiguo de paja, pero antes, lo primero que debo hacer es mencionarles los materiales que utilicé para transformar este sombrero a mi gusto.
Materiales:
- Alcohol
- Algodón
- Pega blanca escolar
- Pintura de diferentes colores
- Una Servilleta decorativa
- Laca
- Pinceles
- Tijeras
Lo primero que hice fue limpiar toda la pieza con alcohol, esto se hace con la intención de remover y quitar toda los residuos de sucio y polvo, también con el propósito de remover la grasa que pudiese tener el sombrero y poder así trabajar de manera más óptima.
El siguiente paso ha sido pintarlo de blanco para hacer como una base donde los otros colores que se pretendan colocar luego tengan un buen acabado, pero, antes de seguir pintado se debe pegar la servilleta sobre el color blanco, la servilleta que escogí tiene un lindo diseño que sé que quedara muy lindo en el sombrero, por eso pegué la servilleta y así se pueda apreciar bien todos los colores que posee el diseño de la servilleta decorativa.
Luego de lo mencionado hasta aquí, procedí a pintarlo con los colores que a mi parecer resaltan aún más la decoración de la servilleta y como pueden apreciar en las imágenes, le coloqué un color vainilla por la parte de arriba, y el color turquesa por la parte de abajo, luego hice una mezcla de dos colores, verde oliva y verde aceituna para colocarlo en las orillas del sombrero.
Ya para finalizar le coloqué laca para darle protección a los colores del sombrero y además fijar bien lo que he hecho. En verdad espero que les haya gustado cómo decoré esta pieza y más adelante les mostraré otras decoraciones que he estado realizando.
