Nuevo Club de Yoga de la Risa en Barquisimeto
Desde el año 2018 formo parte del movimiento “Venezuela riendo” y desde entonces en específico el mes abril de ese año comencé mi carrera de instructor en yoga de la risa. Durante dos años cada domingo en el parque del este de Barquisimeto he conducido sesiones de yoga de la risa a todo publico, solo me detuve en tiempos de pandemia, y recientemente a comienzos de este año volví a retomar las actividades cada domingo.
Since 2018 I am part of the movement "Venezuela laughing" and since then specifically the month of April of that year I began my career as an instructor in yoga of laughter. For two years every Sunday in the east park of Barquisimeto I have conducted sessions of yoga of laughter to all public, I only stopped in times of pandemic, and recently at the beginning of this year I returned to resume the activities every Sunday.
Aunque esta actividad me ha hecho muy feliz porque he podido contribuir a la sociedad proporcionando un espacio de alegría a las personas que se acercan, ese club no lo comencé yo, yo lo he conducido los últimos años pero en sí es un club que nació hace 8 años de la mano de uno de mis compañeros del movimiento. Y siempre he deseado emprender mi propio club, y ya me siento con la experiencia para comenzar uno.
Although this activity has made me very happy because I have been able to contribute to society by providing a space of joy to the people who come, I did not start this club, I have been leading it for the last few years, but it is a club that was born 8 years ago by the hand of one of my companions in the movement. And I have always wanted to start my own club, and I already feel I have the experience to start one.
Es por eso que he decidido comenzar un nuevo club de risa en mi ciudad, pero, cuando pensaba esto venía a mi mente varias dudas, pero, a pesar de las dudas, decidí emprender y ahora vienen otras preguntas:
That is why I have decided to start a new laughter club in my city, but, when I was thinking about this, several doubts came to my mind, but, in spite of the doubts, I decided to start and now come other questions:
- ¿Dónde establecer el nuevo club?
- ¿Qué día de la semana?
- ¿A qué hora?
- Where to establish the new club?

- What time of day?
Luego de meditarlo un poco y también conversar con algunas personas que siempre están asistiendo al club de los domingos pensé en una plaza en específico en una zona residencial al este de la ciudad. La plaza se llama “José Ángel Álamo”. Cuando tomé esta decisión decidí ir a visitar y hacer un reconocimiento de la plaza para visualizar cual sería el espacio más óptimo para realizar las sesiones de yoga de la risa.
After thinking about it for a while and also talking to some people who are always attending the Sunday club I thought of a specific square in a residential area in the east of the city. The square is called "Jose Angel Alamo". When I made this decision I decided to visit and do a reconnaissance of the square to visualize which would be the most optimal space for the laughter yoga sessions.
Me llevè una enorme sorpresa cuando visité la plaza ya que me di cuenta que los entes gubernamentales correspondientes han hecho un enorme trabajo de reacondicionar las instalaciones de la plaza ya que recuerdo no estaba en las mejores condiciones hace unos años. Lo más curioso ha sido que han decorado la plaza con un motivo en especial, y como pueden ver en las fotografías se trata de una decoración pensada en el ajedrez.
I was very surprised when I visited the square because I realized that the corresponding governmental entities have done a great job of reconditioning the facilities of the square since I remember that it was not in the best conditions a few years ago. The most curious thing has been that they have decorated the square with a special motif, and as you can see in the pictures it is a chess decoration.
Al recorrer la plaza tomé fotos y pude visualizar dónde hacer las sesiones, y decidí hacerlo los días martes a las 5 de la tarde, y el próximo martes 11 de abril, es decir, en dos días será la inauguración, vamos a ver cuantas personas se animan y se acercan. A veces los comienzos pueden ser un poco cuesta arriba, no me hago expectativas.
As I walked around the square I took pictures and I could visualize where to do the sessions, and I decided to do it on Tuesdays at 5 pm, and next Tuesday, April 11, that is, in two days will be the inauguration, let's see how many people are encouraged and come. Sometimes the beginnings can be a little uphill, I don't have expectations.
Si algo me gusta del yoga de la risa es la oportunidad que nos brinda de reírnos de nosotros mismos, de no tomarnos las cosas demasiado en serio, y disfrutar de las cosas tal cual ocurren, creo que al final es una práctica bastante estoica. Ya les estarè contando como ha sido la experiencia. Si eres de Barquisimeto estás invitado a los clubs de yoga de la risa, o si conoces a alguien en la ciudad puedes invitarlo a participar de estas sesiones. Por ahora en Barquisimeto hay 3 clubes, los días domingos en el parque del este, los días miércoles en el Obelisco, al oeste de la ciudad y ahora a partir del próximo martes, en la plaza José Angel Alamo, cerca del Farmatodo de la avenida 20 con calle 8.
If there is something I like about laughter yoga is the opportunity it gives us to laugh at ourselves, to not take things too seriously, and to enjoy things as they happen, I think it is a pretty stoic practice in the end. I will be telling you how the experience has been. If you are from Barquisimeto you are invited to the laughter yoga clubs, or if you know someone in the city you can invite them to participate in these sessions. For now in Barquisimeto there are 3 clubs, on Sundays in the east park, on Wednesdays in the Obelisco, in the west of the city and now starting next Tuesday, in the José Angel Alamo square, near the Farmatodo on 20th avenue with 8th street.
