Looking At The Brighter Side Of Life!

Every day, we face unexpected choices, stemming from life's complexities, which we didn't anticipate. We can either choose to dwell on the negative or we can choose to see the silver lining. It's not always easy to maintain a positive outlook, especially when things aren't adding up as we had envisaged. But when we make conscious effort to focus on the good, we shift our perspective and open ourselves up to new possibilities.

It's important to acknowledge the challenges and hardships we face, but it's also important to remember that our thoughts have power. When we choose to dwell on the negative, we're more likely to feel hopeless and defeated, which wouldn't do us any good. But when we choose to reframe challenges, view obstacles as growth catalysts, and
focus on the positive, then we start to see the glass as half full instead of half empty!

How Then Do We Adopt A Brighter Outlook To Life?

Looking at the brighter side of life takes effort, but the rewards are immense. Here are some simple steps;


  • Find Things To Be Thankful For

First let's with a very simple exercise. Here is it - take a moment and think about three things that you're grateful for. It could be anything, from the people in your life to your job or business. Don't overthink it, just let the gratitude flow!
Done? Next, think about why you're grateful for those things. Maybe it’s the little success you've made, or a moment that you cherish. Whatever it is, take a few moments to really feel that gratitude and appreciate the goodness in your life.

This simple act of gratitude can help shift your mindset and open your eyes to the beauty around you. Sometimes we can get so caught up in the hustle and bustle that we forget to appreciate the everyday miracles around us. But when we slow down and focus on gratitude, we're suddenly surrounded by all the good in our lives. And you know what? There's no limit to how much gratitude you can have.


  • Appreciate The Present Moment.

In today's rapidly evolving world, one can easily get caught up in worries about the future or regrets about the past. But when we focus on the here and now, we open ourselves up to the joy and beauty of the present moment.

Let's do another exercise. Take a moment to look up at the sky. Look! Did you notice the colors, the clouds, the way the sun shines through the leaves? How did you feel after that? Joyful? Calm? Inner peace? Please do tell me in the comment section. 😅


  • Find Joy In Simple Pleasures

Sometimes, the best things in life come so free. A walk in the park or garden, a stroll along the beach or just lounging out with your favorite drink- these are the moments that make life truly special.

When you appreciate the simple pleasures in life, you’re investing in your own well-being, creating a sense of contentment and peace that money simply can’t buy.

I really do love taking a walk and lazing around, sometimes. Oh, the feeling is heavenly, hehehe.


Embrace Your Inner Child

This is all about tapping into the pure, unbridled joy that’s been with you since childhood. It’s another secret to looking on the brighter side of life.
Remember how carefree and curious you were as a child? That spark of wonder still shines you. Yes!. When you allow yourself to embrace your inner child, you unlock a world of imagination, laughter, and fun. Remember all the go-to activities you enjoyed doing as a child. You know those childhood creativities like drawing, painting writing stories or even dancing. Why not make it a regular part of your adult life too?.

I loved climbing trees, drawing, making clothes for my dolls, singing and dancing,. I still sing and dance and I'm so enjoying it. 😅

So put down your phone, turn off the TV and go create childhood magic!


  • Practice Self-care

You know what self-care is all about, right? Treating yourself with kindness and respect, taking care of your mind, body, and spirit. Your body is your temple, and what you put into it has a direct impact on your health and happiness.

Let's see what we can find under the self-care umbrella.

  • Getting enough sleep.
  • Eating healthy and nutritious meals, fruits and veggies and and cutting back on processed foods.
  • Celebrating your big and small wins.
  • Practicing mindfulness.
  • Reframe negativity.
  • Focus on solutions rather than problems.
  • Embracing imperfections, etc.

When you take care of yourself, you’re giving your body and mind the fuel they need to stay happy, positive and healthy.


So in a nutshell,

Adopting a brighter outlook to life is a choice. A choice to reframe from negativity and see the world in a new, more positive light,. With gratitude, mindfulness, self-care, and a dash of childhood playfulness, we can cultivate happiness and positivity in our everyday lives.**
