Old Tune, with new original lyrics "The Jot and the Tiddle"

The Jot and the Tiddle (Tune of Harry Chapin's Cats and the Cradle)
Lyrics By Jerry E Smith 11/16/2014

We fight about words; we let them get in the way,
Without ever thinking what the words really say,
So we form a new group, and then we say
“I’m better than you; you better change your ways”!

Then we lose sight of the message that He gave to us,
He said: “you gotta love each other, now that’s the way,
You know you gotta be like Me”.

Chorus
The Jot and the Tiddle and the days of gloom,
I’m a newborn Christian and I’m filled with gloom.
When’s He coming back? Well, we don’t know when,
But we’ll be in the Kingdom then, man,
You know we’ll have a good time then.

The Prophecy’s made; they’re clear as day,
But the powers that be did not like the way,

So they twisted the words, and changed what they say,
Confusing all the people just to get their way,
Chorus
So we quibble and we squabble And we waste our time,
Instead of loving each other, Loving all mankind,
Instead of loving all mankind
Chorus (repeat last 4 lines after last chorus)

In 2014 I was heavily involved with church, online bible study etc... and I got tired of everyone simply wanting to show THEY had the right path, the correct interpretation of the bible, so I wrote these lyrics to express my dismay and disgust.

This is an original Midi with me singing original lyrics.
The melody is Cats in the Cradle by Harry Chapin
