Hello, I hope everyone is well this Sunday, that you are having a wonderful day in the company of your loved ones. Today I wanted to share with the community a little work I did at home. We recently installed new pipes in the house, in the inside part they were underground, but in the outside part it was impossible to put the pipes from below because the garage floor is solid concrete and it was not possible to open it, not even with emery, the man we hired then suggested to do the installation outside and we agreed because it was the outside of the house, however after a few days we realized that being exposed the pipes would be more prone to damage by the sun, so my wife thought we should cover them.
Hola, espero que todos estén bien este domingo, que estén teniendo un maravilloso día en compañía de sus seres queridos. Hoy quise compartir con la comunidad un pequeño trabajo que hice en casa. Es que recientemente instalamos tuberías nuevas en la casa, en la parte de adentro quedaron subterráneas, pero en la pare de afuera fue imposible meter las tuberías por abajo ya que el piso del garaje es de concreto macizo y no fue posible abrirlo, ni siquiera con esmeril, el señor que contratamos entonces sugirió hacer la instalación por fuera y accedimos por tratarse del exterior de la casa, sin embargo luego de unos días nos dimos cuenta de que al estar expuesta las tuberías estarían más propensa a sufrir daños provocados por el sol, de modo que mi esposa pensó que debíamos cubrirlas.
I started by sifting the sand as it has been there in the yard for a long time and has been filling up with impurities and debris, especially with the renovation we did recently, this way I make sure it is as clean as possible.
Inicié cerniendo la arena ya que tiene mucho tiempo allí en el patio y se ha ido llenando de impurezas y escombros, sobre todo con la reforma que hicimos recientemente, de esta manera me aseguro de que esté lo más limpia posible.
I then added the cement and water and mixed with the shovel. This cement I bought is of very good quality and at an affordable price, I decided to buy the bag as I will need it for some small projects like this one I have in mind.
Posteriormente añadí el cemento y el agua para posteriormente mezclar con la pala. Este cemento que compré es de muy buena calidad y a un precio accesible, decidí comprar el saco ya que lo necesitaré para algunos pequeños proyectos como este que tengo en mente.
And then I carefully covered the entire pipe with cement. I used a masonry trowel to distribute the product better and give it a smoother finish, I was really trying hard but you will see what happened next.
Y luego me dediqué con mucho cuidado a cubrir toda la tubería con el cemento. Usé una paleta de albañilería para distribuir mejor el producto y darle un acabado más terso, de verdad me estaba esmerando pero ya verán lo que sucedió a continuación.
Our cat is extremely curious, so when I left for a few minutes to get a glass of water in the kitchen he apparently came over to see what I was doing, and obviously left his paw prints all over the place, so I had to smooth the surface again.
Nuestro gato es extremadamente curioso, así que cuando me ausenté por unos minutos para ir a beber un vaso de agua en la cocina al parecer se acercó a mirar que había estaba haciendo yo por esos lados, y obviamente dejó las huellas de sus patas marcadas, así que tuve que volver a alisar la superficie.
And this was the result, it was not as neat as it was at first because just after I finished it started to rain very hard, there was even an area where the pipe was a little exposed after the heavy rain, but no matter, tomorrow I will fix it as I will do another small project, the important thing is that now the pipe will be covered and the sun can no longer damage it.
Y este fue el resultado, no quedó tan prolijo como lo estaba en un principio porque justo después que terminé comenzó a llover muy fuerte, incluso hubo una zona donde la tubería quedó un poco expuesta tras la intensa lluvia, pero no importa, mañana lo arreglaré ya que voy a hacer otro pequeño proyecto, lo importante es que ahora la tubería estará cubierta y el sol ya no podrá dañarla.
