Hay personas que después de cierto tiempo comienzan a mentir sobre su edad e incluso se niegan a celebrar los cumpleaños, pero este no es el caso de la Señora Gandys, quien es tía de mi esposo, y realmente AMA celebrar cada año de vida que logra alcanzar, y el día de ayer, celebramos su cumple número 75.
There are people who after a certain time start to lie about their age and even refuse to celebrate birthdays, but this is not the case of Mrs. Gandys, who is my husband's aunt, and really LOVES to celebrate every year of life she manages to reach, and yesterday, we celebrated her 75th birthday.
Feliz día amigos de @familyandfriends, espero se encuentren súper bien, el día de hoy les quiero hablar de una reunión muy especial en la que junto a mi familia, participamos ayer, y como les digo en la introducción, se trata del cumpleaños de una tía de mi esposo.
A la señora Gandys la conozco desde mis 17 años, pues es la mamá de quien era mi mejor amiga para ese entonces, de hecho fue en su casa donde conocí a José. Así que ahora, aparte de ser familia, nos une un lazo muy especial, pues su casa, específicamente el caney, fue nuestro lugar de reuniones juveniles, e incluso ya de adultos, hasta que todos sus hijos se fueron del país, y aun así, de vez en cuando ella organiza reuniones familiares y nosotros estamos entre sus invitados.
Ella es una persona súper alegre y cariñosa, siempre con una actitud positiva a pesar de las dificultades que le ha tocado vivir, y es de esas personas que sí disfrutan de cumplir años, y año tras año celebra con alguna reunión familiar e incluso con piñatas en la que niños y adultos "deben" participar.
Happy day friends of @familyandfriends, I hope you are feeling great, today I want to tell you about a very special gathering in which together with my family, we participated yesterday, and as I tell you in the introduction, it is the birthday of one of my husband's aunt.
I have known Mrs. Gandys since I was 17 years old, because she is the mother of my best friend at that time, in fact it was in her house where I met Jose. So now, besides being family, we have a very special bond, because her house, specifically the caney, was our place of youth meetings, and even as adults, until all her children left the country, and even so, from time to time she organizes family reunions and we are among her guests.
She is a very cheerful and affectionate person, always with a positive attitude despite the difficulties she has had to live, and she is one of those people who enjoys celebrating her birthday, and year after year she celebrates with a family reunion and even with piñatas in which children and adults "must " participate.
El día de ayer para su cumpleaños 75, quiso invitar a sus familiares más cercanos a un almuerzo de cumple y por supuesto a tumbar la piñata y cantar cumpleaños con ella.
Obviamente, no nos podemos negar, porque el cumple de tía Gandys es tradición familiar, y la verdad que es una reunión en extremo divertida, y ya me estaba haciendo falta relajarme y reírme un poco, y vaya que me reí y disfruté.
Mis hijos estaban felices, pues la tía es súper consentidora, además se encontraron con los primos, y todo fue juego y diversión. Para mí fue una especie de reencuentro, ya que se encontraban varias tías de mi esposo a las que quiero mucho, y que por uno u otro motivo hace tiempo no veía, así que no faltaron los abrazos y las horas largas de conversación para ponernos al día.
Yesterday for her 75th birthday, she wanted to invite her closest family members to a birthday lunch and of course to break the piñata and sing birthday songs with her.
Obviously, we could not refuse, because Aunt Gandys birthday is a family tradition, and the truth is that it is an extremely fun gathering, and I needed to relax and laugh a little, and I laughed and enjoyed it.
My children were happy, because the aunt is super spoiled, plus they met with their cousins, and everything was fun and games. For me it was a kind of reunion, since there were several of my husband's aunts that I love very much, and that for one reason or another I had not seen for a long time, so there was no shortage of hugs and long hours of conversation to catch up.
Esta reunión inició a la 1:00 pm y eran casi las 9:00 pm y nadie se quería ir, y es que la estabamos pasando súper bien. Comimos muchísimo, en verdad demasiado, y de todo un poco.
Sopa de res, galletas, besitos de coco, ensalada de pulpo, helados de frutas, antipasto y pare de contar. Pero lo mejor de todo fue la hora de la piñata, en especial el turno de los adultos. Es que hasta mi suegro de 82 años le dio palo a la piñata.
La verdad fue un día muy especial, lleno de risas y comida, donde dimos gracias a Dios por un año más de vida de la tía Gandys, esperando que para el 15 de agosto del 2024 se encuentre con vida y salud.
This meeting started at 1:00 pm and it was almost 9:00 pm and nobody wanted to leave. We ate a lot, really too much.
Beef soup, cookies, coconut kisses, octopus salad, fruit ice cream, antipasto, and on and on. But the best of all was the piñata time, especially the adults' turn. Even my 82 year old father-in-law gave the piñata a try.
The truth was a very special day, full of laughter and food, where we thanked God for one more year of life of Aunt Gandys, hoping that by August 15, 2024 she will be alive and well.
