Kookaburras in Agnes waters. 🇦🇺

While camping at the Reef caravan park in Agnes Waters Queensland.
We could hear the distinctive call of a kookaburra off in the bush. The call sounds like they are laughing. I'm sure you have heard it before on any video to do with Australia.

We looked up and this young kookaburra was hanging out in the tree behind us, so I grabbed my camera to get some shots.

Kookaburras are part of the tree kingfisher family and grow to around 30 to 48 cm in length.

This guy was a bit weary of me and didn't want me to get too close.

He dove into the bush and came back with this bug, I think it's a giant cockaroch.

Then took off to eat his snack in peace.

Kookaburras are definitely one of my favourite Australian birds 😊
