This post goes for 'Show me a photo (of a bird)' contest, round #45. Week's topic was 'Birds in Autumn'. So I walked out today to the post office (had two small packages to receive) and on my way back made my route thru a park, and got some birdies. Also, made some captures for 'Amazing Nature' challenge, this week it suggested prompt 'November'... killed two birds with one stone, as they say.
This is a piece of autumn I witnessed. Sunless, cloudy, cold... No bright colors and attractive spots your eye can relax on and please you with.
Вот такой кусочек осени встретился мне сегодня. Пасмурно, холодно, ни ярких красок, ничего, на чем может отдохнуть глаз.
But there were birds in the park, yes! They met me almost immediately at the entrance: an old lady brought some treat, to which a flock of ducks, pigeons and two dozen local seagulls arrived happily.
Но птички в парке были, да! Они встретились мне почти сразу у входа: пожилая леди принесла угощение, на которое прилетела стая уток, голуби и две дюжины местных чаек.
It was a very funny scene. Rivalry! The seagulls put into action their powerful "psychic weapon" - shrill shouting. But they still could not drive off the ducks and privatize the "treat" - the ducks kept silence and laboriously grabbed everything they could :) Meanwhile, I quickly made several shots with wide-angle lens ... and knowing that the seagulls would not let me close to them, I squatted down and in a hurry attached to the camera my 150mm macro telephoto lens.
Это была очень смешная сцена. Конкуренция! Чайки пустили в дело "психическое оружие" - крик. Но отогнать уток и приватизировать "угощение" не смогли - утки деловито и молча схватили все, что смогли :) Тем временем, я быстро сделал несколько кадров широкоугольным объективом... зная, что чайки меня близко к себе не подпустят, я присел на корточки и в спешке прикрепил к камере мой 150мм макро-телевик.
But I was a bit late. The situation had time to change: the bread thrown into the water was snapped up... and the flock of seagulls had "dissociated" ... but a few more seagulls still were drifting on the waters, so... I could focus with my telephoto on these lonely seagulls ... and on the autumn reflections, of course.
Но немного опоздал... ситуация успела измениться: брошенный в воду хлеб расхватали, и я даже не успел подойти ближе, как чаячья стая уже "диссоциировала"... но на воде осталось плавать еще несколько чаек, и я сфокусировался моим телевиком на этих одиноких чайках... и на осенних отражениях, конечно.
There was no sun in the sky since morning, and by that time I realized that it was becoming noticeably dark ... thus all of my autumn birds were photographed in a "low key", unintendedly...
Солнца в небе не было с утра, а к этому времени я понял что уже ощутимо стемнело... мои осенние птички получились сфотографированы "в низком ключе" - вынужденно...

Let me say goodbye with this last photo. Probably it is not that great ... but look closely at the seagull pose! ... what a special, exclusive moment was captured, hehe.
