A Marsh Wren takes his position and beats out his rollicking song among the reeds. At this wildlife refuge there is a trail that passes through the marsh and in spring you are surrounded by these little virtuosos. They are constantly chittering and chattering and singing as loud as any bird there despite their diminutive size. Never bet against the wren.
The Marsh Wren has a rusty brown plumage with black and white streaking on its back and a pale belly. It has the familiar white eyebrow typical of other wrens and stubby tail that it usually cocks upright while perched and singing.
