( EN / DE ) A few days ago on a walk I heard a "crack" behind me. I already had such a suspicion, which was confirmed when I turned myself around: a crow that had found a walnut.
These clever little feathers know very well that they can crack the nut by dropping it from a great height onto the asphalt of the road.
Vor ein paar Tagen auf einem Spaziergang hörte ich hinter mir ein "Krack". Ich hatte schon so eine Vermutung, die sich bestätigte, als ich mich: Eine Krähe, die eine Wallnuß gefunden hatte.
Diese schlauen Federchen wissen ganz genau, dass sie die Nuß knacken können, wenn sie sie aus großer Höhe auf den Asphalt der Straße fallen lassen.
Approached slowly so as not to scare them away. But here too they are clever, because the crow knew very well that I could not be dangerous to it in any way, either from this distance or even close. So she just took care of you nut and threw me a sideways glance from time to time.
Habe mich langsam genähert, um sie nicht zu verscheuchen. Aber auch hier sind sie schlau, denn die Krähe wusste ganz genau, dass ich ihr weder aus dieser Entfernung oder auch aus der Nähe irgendwie gefährlich werden konnte. Also kümmerte sie sich einfach nur um du Nuß und warf mir von Zeit zu Zeit einen Seitenblick zu.
We were both relaxed, I had time to take many, many photos (unfortunately, the quality with the phone did not turn out so well)
But then I heard a car approaching. Well, the crow had probably heard it much earlier. I think you can see that she was suddenly not as relaxed as before.
Wir waren beide entspannt, ich hatte Zeit um viele, viele Fotos zu machen (leider ist die Qualität mit dem Handy nicht so gut geworden)
Aber dann hörte ich, dass sich ein Auto nähert. Naja, die Krähe hatte es wohl schon viel früher gehört. Ich denke, man sieht, dass sie plötzlich nicht mehr so entspannt wie zuvor war.
She grabbed the nut with her beak and long before the car arrived at her spot, she had already flown off.
Sie schnappte die Nuß mit ihrem Schnabel und lange bevor das Auto an ihrer Stelle ankam, war sie schon los geflogen.
Again, very clever, because obviously the crow knew exactly that it does not have to make an effort to gain altitude, because the path there is namely downhill. So it just had to sail straight away...
Auch hier sehr schlau, denn offensichtlich wusste die Krähe genau, dass sie sich nicht anstrengen muss um an Höhe zu gewinnen, da der Weg dort nämlich bergab geht. So brauchte sie ganz einfach nur gerade davon zu segeln...
