Its time to kick off a fresh week of shopping activity for the friends in Nigeria. The best way to start is by announcing the winners of our last week's contest which was extended to Saturday as a result of some challenges by the distriator app. Happily, we were able to shop again and upload pictures without any issues again.
So for the contest, we promised to send some prices to top 3 shoppers in the Nigerian group. Its a way to encourage more activity - buying stuffs, paying with HBD and getting rewarded.
The top 3 winners
As the contest rule stated, the top 3 performers in terms of number of shopping trips and amount of HBD claimed are to be winners. So below are the top 3 performers:
@ladyfoth - 4 claims, 3.1 HBD
@iamchimary - 4 claims, 1.4 HBD
@bummblebee - 3 claims, 1.4 HBD
One of the rules of the contest was that winners must have made at least 5 claims. But considering the difficulty that users encountered last week which made it impossible to upload images and complete claims, we understand why the number of claims above are few.
We have sent the rewards to the above winners. We removed small HBD from the rewards to reflect the prevailing circumstances of the contest. Thus:
1st position got 2 HBD instead of 3.
2nd positions shared between two participants got 1.25 HBD each instead of 2. Below is a screenshot of the prizes sent.

ShoKin Kicked off last Saturday - update
20 friends were available last Saturday to witness and participate in the launching of our group shopping activity called ShoKiN. We all went to Kcee Supermarket and spent a total of 48 HBD buying different stuffs from the shop. Minus the poor internet signal which made it challenging to complete claims quickly, it was a great experience. Its the birth of a new network of friends that will always come together every Saturday to shop as a group.
We are really optimistic that ShoKiN will create another opportunity to grow together and network as we earn by spending HBD. As we go on, we will gradually brainstorm together and come up with activities that could be carried on under ShoKiN. But to begin, we have created the group account @shokin which will be used to report on our activities each week. All earnings from that account will be used to support its active members and help everyone grow.
We will think of branding too, and other things to give ShoKiN a great identity and relevance under SpendHBD. I use this oppoetunity to encourage all 20 friends and many other new ones to always be avialable to shop as a group and try to bring new friends too so that we grow as one.
SpendHBD has the capacity to drive mass adoption od Hive in Nigeria and elsewhere. With other ideas like ShoKiN, it becomes even more beautiful. Lets all do.our best to promote it and bring new people.
