Hola, mi querida comunidad de Hive Open Mic. Una nueva semana, un nuevo reto. Esta vez, se trata de compartir temas tradicionales, idea de nuestro reciente Artista Destacado @bertrayo.
Seleccioné participar con "Las Coplas" de Lilia Vera, cantante folclórica venezolana, quien entona tanto temas en géneros tradicionales venezolanos como canciones de protesta o de denuncias pidiendo justicia social.
¿Qué es una copla? Según el Diccionario de la Real Academia de la Lengua Española, una copla es una "Composición poética que consta solo de una cuarteta de romance, de una seguidilla, de una redondilla o de otras combinaciones breves, y por lo común sirve de letra en las canciones populares" y estas que se presentan engarzadas como las cuentas de un zarcillo y con un solo hilo conductor que su línea melódica tienen también un solo tema en común: el amor.
Esta vez me acompaña mi amiga María Teresa Fuenmayor (@sayury) tocando el cuatro venezolano y haciéndome el dúo en algunas partes de la canción.
Como mi hija Érika estaba en la universidad, me hizo el favor de realizar la grabación un joven amigo: Moisés Arreaza. Por cierto, él desea también participar en Hive pero necesita saber qué comunidad cura reggaeton que es el género que él cultiva. Si alguien sabe en que comunidad podría él trabajar con su reggaeton, por favor, déjeme la información en los comentarios de este post.
Hello my dear Hive Open Mic community. A new week, a new challenge. This time, it's about sharing traditional themes, the idea of our recent Spotlight Artist @bertrayo.
I selected to participate with "Las Coplas" (The Couplets) by Lilia Vera, a Venezuelan folk singer, who sings songs in traditional Venezuelan genres as well as songs of protest or complaints asking for social justice.
What is a couplet? According to the Dictionary of the Royal Academy of the Spanish Language, a couplet is a "Poetic composition that consists only of a romance quatrain, a seguidilla, a redondilla or other short combinations, and usually serves as lyrics in popular songs" and these that are strung together like the beads of a tendril and with a single common thread that their melodic line also have a single theme in common: love.
This time my friend María Teresa Fuenmayor (@sayury) accompanies me playing the Venezuelan cuatro and making me a duet in some parts of the song.
Since my daughter Érika was in class in University, a young friend did me the favor of making the recording: Moisés Arreaza. En Venezuela los "copleros" son músicos especializados en entonar coplas y/o en componerlas. Muy cotizados en el mes de Mayo, cuando el día 3 se celebra el Día de la Cruz. En esa fecha se acostumbra colocar en las casas cruces elaboradas con madera y se adornan con flores naturales o de papel. En la noche se hace la fiesta: el "Velorio de Cruz" en el cual se lucirán los copleros trayendo sus composiciones de ese año.
In Venezuela the "copleros" are musicians specialized in singing couplets and/or composing them. Highly valued in the month of May, when the Day of the Cross is celebrated on the 3rd. On that date, it is customary to place crosses made of wood in the houses and they are decorated with natural or paper flowers. At night the party is held: the "Velorio de Cruz" in which the copleros will show off bringing their compositions of that year.
