Hola, querida comunidad de @hiveopenmic. Esta es la segunda vez que participo en este magnífico evento. El tema para esta semana es "Let's rock" (Vamos a rockear), propuesto por nuestra reciente Artista Destacada @maitt87. El rock un género musical que se originó en melodías afroamericanas mezcladas con otros ritmos a finales del siglo XIX. Pero fue a principios del siglo XX cuando se consolidó.
Algunos de los grupos de rock más célebres a nivel internacional han sido Aerosmith, Guns N' Roses, The Beatles, AC/DC, Metallica, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, Queen. Acá en Venezuela cultivaron este género con mucho éxito los grupos Zapato 3, Desorden Público, Caramelos de Cianuro, Aditus, entre otros.
Se me hace difícil cantar una melodía propia de este género fundamentalmente porque canto a capella y haría mucha falta guitarra y bajo eléctrico, batería, o al menos algún otro instrumento musical que los sustituyera. Pero no quise "saltarme" mi participación esta semana y les traigo una canción original, letra y música de mi propia inspiración: "Virgen de Monserrat".
He tenido el honor y la satisfacción de que ha sido interpretada en la iglesia en dos oportunidades, acá en las Fiestas Patronales del Municipio José Ángel Lamas, Santa Cruz de Aragua, en Venezuela, en el cual resido actualmente, aunque soy oriunda de Villa de Cura, pueblo del mismo estado. La Virgen de Monserrat es la patrona del pueblo y se venera todos los 8 de septiembre. Espero les guste mi canción y mi interpretación.
Hello dear @hiveopenmic community. This is the second time I have participated in this magnificent event. The theme for this week is "Let's rock" (Let's rock) , proposed by our recent Spotlight Artist @maitt87. Rock a musical genre that originated in African-American melodies mixed with other rhythms at the end of the 19th century. But it was at the beginning of the 20th century when it was consolidated.

It is difficult for me to sing a melody typical of this genre mainly because I sing a cappella and I would really need an electric guitar and bass, drums, or at least some other musical instrument to replace them. But I didn't want to "skip" my participation this week and I bring you an original song, lyrics and music of my own inspiration: "Virgen de Monserrat".
I have had the honor and satisfaction that it has been interpreted in the church on two occasions, here at the Patron Saint Festivities of the José Ángel Lamas Municipality, Santa Cruz de Aragua, in Venezuela, where I currently reside, although I am a native of Villa de Cura, town of the same state. The Virgin of Monserrat is the patron saint of the town and is venerated every September 8. I hope you like my song and my interpretation.
