Lately in Nigeria there has been an increase of online recruitment scams through text messages to people and many people are falling victim to this scam.
Scammers have seen the problems of the people in the country has an avenue to make money and exploit the people. Each day and year the number of unemployed youth are increasing and yet nothing has been done to this.
Some of this scammers will give location to the people who responded to the messages and on getting to the venue given to them , the place might be a deserted place or bush and they are killed and use for ritual.
I can’t count number of times I have received their messages and what I do is to ignore or select the messages from my phone. But I look at the number of people who will have fall victim of this scams.
I believe is high time the government do something about about this by providing job opportunities and training for people who want to venture into businesses such as bead making, sowing and the likes, by doing this it will help to reduce the number of unemployed youth in the country and also people who have been in service more than the actual stipulated time should be retired immediately and all ghost workers should be dealt with because all this will prevent younger generations to have ample opportunity in the service.
