[ENG/ESP] The silence of makeup artists. / El silencio de las maquilladoras.

The days are bad, and taking advantage of the time and opportunity to produce income to support our families has become the hardest work for many housewives. The emotional and physical burden is great when we have the responsibility of caring for our children and also finding the means to be able to contribute financially to the family burden. Thank God we have been blessed to have a platform where we can be content creators with the things we love to do and be rewarded for it. At the end of the day, Hive Blog, besides being a growing social network, promotes the monetization of the content that is posted. So I honestly think that it is not wrong to expect to receive rewards for what we post.

. Los días son malos, y aprovechar el tiempo y la oportunidad de producir ingresos para el sustento de nuestras familias se ha vuelto la labor más ardua para muchas amas de casas. La carga emocional y física es grande cuando tenemos la responsabilidad de cuidar a nuestros hijos y además buscar los medios para poder contribuir económicamente con la carga familiar. Gracias a Dios hemos tenido la bendición de poder contar con una plataforma donde podemos ser creadoras de contenido con las cosas que nos agrada hacer y además ser recompensadas por ello. A fin de cuentas, en Hive Blog, además de ser una red social en vías de crecimiento, se promueve la monetización de los contenidos que se postean. A si que honestamente pienso que no está mal esperar recibir recompensas por lo que posteamos.

However, it is necessary to mention that creating content is almost a full time job, it requires creativity, ingenuity, time and financial resources to create, in this case, a makeup. Particularly when I do more elaborate makeup that includes body, I can spend up to 5 hours just creating the makeup. Sometimes I also create my own props and that takes additional time that is no less than two hours. All this I do because art, through makeup is something that I am passionate about, only in this way can something so demanding be done.

Sin embargo, es necesario mencionar que crear contenido es un trabajo casi de tiempo completo, se requiere de creatividad, ingenio, tiempo y recursos financieros para crear, en este caso, un maquillaje. Particularmente, cuando realizo maquillajes más elaborados que incluyen corporal, puedo invertir hasta 5 horas solo en la creación del maquillaje. A veces también creo mis propios accesorios y eso lleva un tiempo adicional que no es menor de dos horas. Todos esto lo hago porque el arte, a través del maquillaje es algo que me apasiona, solo de esta manera se puede hacer algo tan demandante.

Another factor that I must mention when doing makeup is the cost of the products, from moisturizers, pre foundations and makeup itself to removing the makeup after taking the photos. Everything represents a cost - expense that logically has to be associated to a benefit or profit; to someone it may seem a little uncomfortable to talk about money and I run the risk of being misunderstood, but this is the reality and the core of this matter. As trivial and purposeless as it may seem to someone to create content through makeup, they should be empathetic and put themselves under the skin of those of us who day after day continue to create this type of content. This is work that is fairly rewarded, but this is just my opinion.

Otro de los factores que debo mencionar a la hora de hacer maquillaje es el costo de los productos, desde los hidratantes, pre bases y maquillaje propiamente hasta llegar a retirar el maquillaje después de tomar las fotos. Todo representa un costo - gasto que lógicamente tiene que estar asociado a un beneficio o ganancia; a alguien le puede parecer algo incómodo hablar de dinero y corro el riesgo de ser malinterpretada, pero ésta es la realidad y el núcleo de este asunto. Por más que a alguien le pueda parecer trivial y sin propósito la creación de contenido a través del maquillaje, tendrían que ser empáticos y colocarse bajo la piel de quienes día tras día seguimos creando este tipo de contenido. Este es un trabajo que es recompensado de manera justa, pero ésta es solo mi opinión.
