[ENG/ESP] Blue Skull Bust. / Busto Calavera Azul.

A wonderful concrete bust gave me the inspiration to do this makeup. Of course, they never look the same, besides I like to give them my personal touch, but as I mentioned before, you can get inspiration from almost anything. Objects, surfaces, textures give us ideas of what we can use to paint and for sample a button. The following is the image I'm talking about, which I consider a fantastic sculpture.

Un maravilloso busto de concreto me ha servido de inspiración para realizar este maquillaje. Por supuesto, nunca me quedan iguales, además me gusta darles mi toque personal, pero como ya le he mencionado antes, se puede conseguir inspiración casi en cualquier cosa. Los objetos, las superficies, las texturas nos dan ideas de qué podemos utilizar para pintar y para muestra un botón. La siguiente es la imagen de la que les hablo, la cual considero una fantástica escultura.

The sketch: With black eyeliner pencil I made the sketch of the skull. It doesn't look very definitive, but it's not a cause for concern as the makeup takes a lot of paint and the strokes won't show at all.

El boceto: Con lápiz delineador de ojos en color negro realicé el boceto de la calavera. No se ve muy definitivo, pero no es motivo de preocupación ya que el maquillaje lleva una gran cantidad de pintura y los trazos no se notarán absolutamente nada.

Paint application: I started the paint application starting with the outside of the skull which is a gray tone, but unlike the reference image I chose one several shades lighter so as not to darken the work so much. Then I applied black body paint in the eye sockets. Nose and cheeks and the border between the skull and the gray part to define the edges. I immediately applied the blue body paint with a metallic touch on the skull and peculiar tongue of the sculpture.

Aplicación de pintura: Empecé la aplicación de pintura comenzando por la parte de afuera de la calavera que es un tono gris, pero a diferencia de la imagen de referencia elegí uno varios tonos más claros para no oscurecer tanto el trabajo. Luego apliqué pintura corporal negra en cavidades de ojos. Nariz y mejillas y el borde entre la calavera y la parte gris para definir los bordes. De inmediato apliqué la pintura corporal azul con un toque metálico en la calavera y peculiar lengua de la escultura.

Volume, depth and other details: I worked with a mixture of blue in lighter tones and white to give volume and black for depth, to achieve the effect of relief especially in the tongue of the figure. I also worked the edges and placed a little blue sparkles in the cavities of the eyes and nose.

Volumen, profundidad y otros detalles: Trabajé con una mezcla de azul en tonos más claros y blanco para dar volumen y negro para profundidad, y así conseguir el efecto de relieve sobre todo en la lengua de la figura. También trabajé los bordes y coloqué un poco destellos azules en las cavidades de los ojos y nariz.
