2023 NFL Team Power Rankings: #18 New Orleans Saints

Coming in at #18 is the New Orleans Saints. With a weak NFC South division, I believe they will likely be the division's champions.

The Saints finally found a decent answer at QB since the departure of Drew Brees after the 2020/21 season ended. Solid QB Derek Carr joins the Saints after nine seasons with the Raiders, and I believe it's a really good fit for both parties.

The Saints are hopeful that WR Michael Thomas returns to his former elite self in 2023 after three straight injury riddled seasons. They do have second year WR Chris Olave whose coming off a 1,000 yard season as a rookie to hopefully create a great WR combo with Thomas.

At running back, Alvin Kamara is set to miss three games due to an off the field incident, but the Saints did also sign Jamaal Williams who is coming off of a monster season where he shattered career highs, had his first 1,000 yard season and had a league leading 17 rushing touchdowns.

Defensively, the Saints have been above average to straight up elite for like the past six seasons. DE Cameron Jordan in particular is just Mr. Consistent. The man has played in every single game since 2011! He's started all but one of those games.

The Saints have a chance at being a top NFC team, but recent history has not been kind to them as they've missed the playoffs in the past two seasons.
