Tele Tuesday - Long Train Running

I have missed a couple of weeks of #TeleTuesday, but I am back today. I was trawling through my folders of guitar stuff and found some sheets that I got when I did an evening class in rock guitar, We had a great teacher who would write out the chords and tab for a song each week I remember it being a pretty big class, so we all had to play our electric guitars without amplification to avoid a racket. Unfortunately there seem to be less of such classes in recent years. It could be due to lack of government funding. I did others in jazz improvisation and piano.

One of the songs we did was Long Train Running by The Doobie Brothers. It is just a few chords that repeat, but it is all about the rhythm. I am not sure I have mastered it. Coming in at the right moment at the start and when the backing drops out near the end is tricky.

I was playing my Benford Tele Custom through my Zoom G3X on a clean Fender amp emulation. That sound was quite addictive and I spent a while playing other tunes. It has a nice spring reverb and you can add some tremolo too, but I did not use the latter on this song.

I used this backing track.

When I was doing the thumbnail image Google Photos was able to read the text from the sheet. That is quite impressive considering the size of the text and that is is not too clearly copied.

Rock on!
