On March 27,1960 James Potter was born into a wealthy pure blood wizardly family.

1971-1978 attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry .Potter was sorted as Gryffindor

He became Chaser for his house's Quidditch team

James earned him the nickname "Prongs" after spending 3 years learning Animagi in order to perfect the transformation of becoming a stag Animagus

James was an obnoxious youth who liked showing off and possessed exceptional self-confidence that bordered on arrogance.

On 31 July, 1980, Lily gave birth to their son, Harry James Potter

After refusing to join Lord Voldemort's side when he attempted to recruit them,

Lord Voldemort arrived at Godric's Hollow on Hallowe'en in 1981 and murdered James Potter with a Killing Curse.

Voldemort also that evening murdered Lily who died protecting Harry, but thanks to her loving sacrifice, the Killing Curse Voldemort cast at Harry rebounded and destroyed the Dark Lord's body leaving Harry with only a lightning-bolt scar.
