Why Everyone Will Be Wearing Glasses In The Next 15 Years

man-with-glasses.jpg

I have been doing some research and I found this video(the video was called Have TV & Cell Phones Turned Deadly?) I had the thought that everyone will be wearing glasses at this rate. Computer, TV, and smart phone screen time racks up every day. It turns out that these screens can cause dry or irritable eyes, blurred vision, eye fatigue, or head, neck and back pain.

What is the long-term damage?
It turns out these screens emit HEV light(also called blue light) which can permanently damage your eyes. It is the wavelength that has the greatest potential to damage to living tissue.
The Sun and Light bulbs also emit blue light but most people don't stare at people for hours.

How much time do people actually look at screens?
People are spending almost as much time staring at screens as we do sleeping.
the average American Person (aged 16-44) spends 444 minutes or 7.4 hours staring at there screens every day. That’s 147 minutes of television, 103 minutes on a computer, 151 minutes with smartphones, and 43 minutes on a tablet.

How to protect yourself from these rays?
-Stay a comfortable working distance away from your computer
-when using your phone stays as far away from screen as possible
-Do the 20/20/20 Rule every 20 minutes stay away from screen for 20 seconds, 20 feet away.
