the perennial nightshade solanum tuberosum. Potato may be applied to both the plant and the edible tuber. Tomato have become a staple food in many parts of the world's food supply. Potatoes are the world's fourth-largest food crop, following maize (corn),wheat, and rice. Tuber produce Glycoalkaloid in small amounts. If green section (sprouts and skins) of plant are exposed to light the tuber can produce a high enough concentration of glycoalkaloid to affect human health.

Potato contains a number of vitamins from A, B-complex, to C, to folicasid. Also minerals, proteins, carbohydrates, carotenoids, and pholyphenols. In the body of this potato, there is also a solanine substance known as a sendative, antifungal, and pesticidal. Potato water compresses are known to help the treatment of skin lesions, especially in poor countries that are difficult skin graft. However, when potatoes are exposed to light, potato can make glyoalkaloid, which is called solanine in access, so it is dangerous to eat.
Tbe dangers that can occur are disruption of the troat, headache, paralysis of the limbs, and the body cools. If the dose is 3-6 mg, te effect can be fatal. Treatment that can be done is to give charcoal active/norit, wash the stomach, and given intravenus fluids.
Thererore, to prevent the occurence of solanin in the potatoes, to be consumed it, then place the potatoes in a dark place. Cooking solanine at high temperatures can partially destroy solanine. Also, avoid eating greased and green potatoes at the bottom of the skin, because the solanine alkaloids are high and very poisonous.
