Kitchen Adventure: GLC Zinger (Ginger-Lemon-Carrot Juice)

The color of the juice is my favorite part. The vibrant orange gives me the perfect pick-me-up beverage plus it is honestly yummy (especially when chilled). Surprisingly refreshing, these ingredients bring you a mixture of sweet and spicy juice that is packed with countless health benefits.

This is called Carrot-Lemon-Ginger Zinger. Vegetables are really cheap in Thailand, I usually go to Tesco Lotus or Makro. I would say the total cost of the ingredients is less than 150 baht (about 5 USD) and I can make about 3-4 bottles (300ml). Good deal, right?

Carrots

Carrots are loaded with Vitamins A and K, B6, C and E, antioxidants, folate, thiamine, niacin, potassium and manganese. This colorful vegetable is great for your skin, eye sight, brain function and immune system.

Lemon

Lemon is perfect to cleanse the liver. It is full of antioxidant to help brighten your skin, promotes weight loss, aids in digestion, and even prevents kidney stone. There are unlimited health benefits we can get from lemon and it is one of my favorite juice.

Ginger

Ginger is popular in the field of herbal medicine. It boosts our immune system, it also has anti-inflammatory properties, reduces cholesterol level, and improves cognitive function.

This healthy medley of nutrients, vitamins and enzymes make this my go-to juice for cleansing and health maintenance. I like to keep this in the fridge and finish it within 72 hours for maximum freshness.

I’m not super meticulous with the ratio and all that, but I usually use 6 large carrots, 1 whole lemon, and 1-2 thumb of ginger. I adjust depending on what’s in my fridge that day (LOL). But, these are basic kitchen staples so I can imagine it being available in most kitchens.

♢ Wash and peel the carrots and ginger.
♢ Then slice it along with your lemon.
