Al igual que el año pasado, este año ya empezó hace un par de semanas la temporada del huerto ecológico. Todos los años, en primavera, mi padre empieza a preparar el huerto para sembrar sus hortalizas, entre las que destacan los tomates, pimientos, calabazas y ajos.
Just like last year, this year the organic garden season started a couple of weeks ago. Every year, in the spring, my father starts preparing the garden to plant his vegetables, among which are tomatoes, peppers, pumpkins and garlic.
El año pasado escribí varios posts sobre el huerto, en el que se iba viendo como las plantas crecían y como las hortalizas pasaban de ser un proyecto a una realidad, y a una realidad buenísima, porque los tomates sobre todo son espectaculares y son una delicia para el paladar. Este año vuelven los posts del huerto, y para empezar, os dejo las fotos de como está.

Pimientos - Peppers
Cómo véis, la planta de los pimientos, no miden más de 10 centímetros. Hay que regarlas mucho al principio sobre todo, porque en Almería hace mucho calor y más en la sierra de los filabres, que es donde está el huerto. ¿Crecerán mucho?

Tomates - Tomatoes
Plantados y tapados con plástico porque son la planta más delicada, de esta manera el suelo conserva mejor la humedad, que lo necesita mucho, si no hacemos esto, no tendremos a nuestros ansiados tomates. Es mi hortaliza favorita, tengo ganas de que crezcan rápido.
Planted and covered with plastic because they are the most delicate plant, in this way the soil conserves moisture better, which needs a lot, if we do not do this, we will not have our longed for tomatoes. It's my favorite vegetable, I want to grow fast.
Ajos - Garlics
Es la planta que está más grande de todas, no es que haya crecido mucho más rápido que las demás, es que los ajos se plantan antes y llevan un tiempo más de cuidado, de ahí que se recojan antes y podamos disfrutar de sus beneficiosas propiadades antes que de ninguna otra hortaliza.
It is the plant that is bigger of all, it is not that it has grown much faster than the others, it is that the garlic is planted before and takes a longer time of care, hence it is collected before and we can enjoy its beneficial properties before any other vegetable.
Calabazas - Pumpkins
Es divertido como ver que unas pequeñas plantas que casi no se ven, luego se convierten en unas gigantescas calabazas. La naturaleza es increíble y si la cuidas bien con cariño, los resultados nos sorprenderán, al igual que lo harán las calabazas cuando las veáis al final de su crianza.
It's fun to see that small plants that are almost invisible, then turn into giant pumpkins. The nature is amazing and if you take good care of it, the results will surprise us, as will the pumpkins when you see them at the end of their breeding.
Cuando haya avances en el huerto, escribiré el segundo post, espero que los leáis todos y os anime a que sí tenéis un pequeño trozo de tierra disponible, os animéis a plantar tomates u otra hortaliza. Es muy gratificante poder comer la verdura que ha criado uno mismo.
