Health benefit of fasting

Few days ago, I wrote about fasting where I explained the reasons why we need to fast - Why fast?.

One of the reasons why I said we need to fast is that fasting has a lot of health benefits and I promised to write a post on the health benefits of fasting.

Before I go into the health benefits, let me first make it clear that fasting is biblical and as a Christian in order to develop ourself in the spirit, we need to fast.

Fasting is also common to all other major religions. This I explained in one of the post Similarities in different religions I dropped some days ago. So, even if you are not a Christian, in whatever religion you found yourself, you still need to fast.

Having said that, we need to understand our ability and know our health status before we can fast. It is not advisable for some people to fast due to their health status. For example, people that have ulcer should not even try to fast and if they do, it should be for a short time. So, if your health status will not allow you to fast, God will understand. As it's not even a sin not to fast.

The following are the health benefits of fasting
