Cold & Flu prevention: Healthy Eating

E1BDBABF-D5B6-4A7E-849E-7319AEE1DD57.jpegThis flu season is shaping up to be a nasty one. This week I'll be sharing tips on boosting your immunity to protect you from the cold and flu.

My tip for today: Eat healthy, well-balanced meals. Include whole grains, plenty of fruits and vegetables and adequate protein. Don’t eat on the run. Take time to enjoy your meals. Add garlic, onions, shitake mushrooms, thyme, oregano, rosemary, and herbs to your soups and stews. These have wonderful anti-bacterial and immune supportive properties. Also, decrease sugar intake because this decreases immunity.
