Why Are We SO Unhealthy?

Obesity is an epidemic that has stretched its arms to every corner of the earth. Throughout history, there have always been gluttonous people.

Thousands of years ago when people had to hunt for their meals, it seems it would make more sense to consume large quantities of meat and milk from animals. Life is energy. Exerting energy to hunt, capture, and kill your meal is entirely different than going to the grocery store to pick out which specific cut of the animal you'd like.

When hunter gatherers would capture their meals, they'd use the entire animal for purposes other than eating. There was more of a mutualistic relationship.

Now that we are able to access much more meat easier than we've ever been able to before, it's much easier to make it the main attraction for dinner. Animals that are given antioniotics and hormones to produce more meat and milk does not seem natural in retrospect to how people used to eat their food long ago.

Aside from just meat, there are many other foods and food products that have been reengineered and modified in ways that make them more appealing and desirable. These foods have not been around long enough for there to be overwhelming scientific evidence that it could, in fact, be causing cancer among people.

I believe people who live on a more plant based diet are healthier than individuals who don't. People who solely live off of a plant based diet rarely have cancerous effects.

I would imagine that people who stress out about everyday situations that occur in life are unhealthy. When we stress out we release a hormone called cortisone. This hormone is released when put ourselves in * fight or flight * situations. When we stress out over every situation throughout our day and have nothing to act upon, we build up these cortisol levels. When your body has high levels of stress and cortisol, it becomes difficult for your body to process other chemical reactions. It becomes difficult to lose weight. It creates an inbalance in your outlook on life.

I understand that we go through things. There are times In life that become overwhelming. I always tell myself,

** If I haven't gotten arrested or lost a limb, I'll be okay." **
If any situation that you're being given is too much for you to handle, just take a deep breath and remember that you're alive. Even if you wish you weren't. Able bodied or not, there is someone somewhere on their death bed wishing they had 1 more hour to be able to do what you're doing.
