Swallowing Gum is Dangerous to Body? it's True

**Many myths about food are widespread in society.

For example,
do not swallow fruit seeds because they will grow in the stomach, or swallow a very dangerous gum. For a long time, there are still many parents who worry, if their child swallows the gum then the candy will last in the stomach for years.**

Then, is the assumption true?

The answer, wrong.
The Ohio State University explains, synthetic parts of chewing gum can not be digested. But that does not mean that gum will be in the stomach for years. In fact, very rarely chewing gum stays in the stomach for more than a week.

Therefore, the stomach periodically empties its contents into the small intestine. So, when the child accidentally swallows the chewing gum, it will go into the large intestine, and out into dirt when defecating. Fabian Ortega on his writing at yaelscientific.org says, some components of gum, such as sweeteners, will certainly be digested. Even so, swallowing bubble gum will not bring any good.

"Often swallowing gum can bring up a bezoar, a clump of immaterial material and potentially blocking the colon," says Edwin McDonald.

Edwin McDonald is a Gastroenterology expert from the University of Chicago and Director of the Adult Nutrition Association. In conclusion, are we going to be okay after swallowing gum? Yes. But, what is the need to swallow chewing gum? Fabian Ortega writes, the habit should be stopped. If the child wants to consume chewing gum, train them to always throw it away once the candy has tasted bland.
