The tensions are rising on Mauna Kea almost as an eruption is about to occur as the number of protesters has increased to over 1000. Governor David Ige issued an Emergency Proclamation which gives law enforcement powers to suspend various state and county laws, including land management ordinances, expedites compensation for members of the National Guard, and allows for mandatory evacuations of civilians. This is sure to escalate things.
