The protests were peaceful as they extended to both the State Capitol in Honolulu on the island of Oahu and at the base of Mauna Kea on the Big Island of Hawaii.
There were no arrests as everything remained peaceful, but you can tell that the tensions are high and it is only a matter of time once the heavy equipment starts rolling in.
