Go Out and See the Sun

I hate these Koreanovela series! I usually say… “this would be the last one”, I promise.” But when it ends, it’s like I was hung up, and I needed to know what happens next.

So I will play the succeeding one just to see where I left from the previous, and then the scenario repeats again… I am trying to control myself into playing the following episode, but as I suspect, I always lose. Until I didn’t realize I spent 15 hours in front of the computer catching up on all episodes.

I was staring at the ceiling after I watched one episode of a Koreanovela.

Supposed I will play the next…

Then my niece came. Her name is Faith, she is 3 years old, and she hated when I am in front of the computer.

She will try her best to remove my concentration. Like saying she is hungry and she wants food. Or that she smells awful and needed a bath.

That day, I told her I was busy because I have work to do (when the real reason is I just want to see what happens next in the Koarenovela I am watching).

She went out, which is something she usually doesn't do. Before, she will cry or make tantrums until she gets what she wants.

Now, I am free to watch.

But then I heard footsteps coming my way. No, it’s not her, it’s from an adult. I saw my cousin, her mom, bringing a dress and shoes. Apparently, she told her mom that I said we are going to the mall, and she needed something nice to wear.

Okaaaayyy, now I'm caught off guard. I told my cousin that I didn’t say about going anywhere.

Clever girl, she was able to manipulate two adults.

My niece looks so excited. She appeals to be cute, and she doesn’t say anything but her eyes are talking to me saying “please”.

Alright, I am defeated.

We prepared ourselves, and then we left.

She is so excited! Telling where we will go, what she will eat and that she is thankful I agreed to bring her there.

We went at the back of the mall, and she started running on the grass. She wants me to chase her... and I did.

That was so exhausting, but it was fun.

And then after that, we went to the theme park. She is so happy when she saw the carousel, and she hopes to ride on it. She’s too young to do it on her own, so I joined her. We tried more rides that are just meant for kids.

It was quite embarrassing, but it was fun.

Then both of us became hungry, so we decided to eat. She wants chicken so we went to ‘Mang Inasal’, it’s a Filipino fast food.

Faith requested to have her own plate and I gave her part of my food. She saw others using their hands to eat, and she asks why we are using spoon and fork. After a billion of whys from her, I just agreed that we can eat by hands so she would stop.

It was so messy, but it is more delicious.

It’s getting dark when we went out. The water fountain at the back is now turned on. It has a different color, and it dances with a different style.

My niece decided to run to it, and she’s all so wet. She is enjoying it so much, but I had to get her because we aren’t bringing any extra clothes. She keeps on running, so I had to catch her.

We are both wet, but we are so happy.

I needed to buy a shirt for me and for her.

And then on our way home, she fell asleep.

That day could have been in front of the computer, slouching on the couch, and being lazy. But because of my niece, I was able to go out there.

I run.

I laugh.

I had fun!

Being connected online is awesome! You can talk to your friends and family from miles and miles away. But sometime we need to plug out and recharge. Go out there and chase the sun, run with the chickens and breathe the fresh air.

You don't need to wait for your next vacation to relax.

You can do that NOW.

Walk around on your street, or go to the park.

That could have the same feeling being at the top of Mount Fuji.

The place doesn't really matter.

Your happiness is inside of you.

Don’t look for it somewhere else.
