Sate Padang uses beef, tongue, or jerohan (heart, intestine, and tetelan) with a thickened peanut sauce (like porridge) plus many chili peppers that taste spicy. Sate Padang Panjang is distinguished by its yellow sate sauce while the red Pariaman Sate is red. The taste of these two types of satay is also different.
