Broccoli is a plant in the cabbage family, whose large flower head is used as a vegetable. Broccoli is usually boiled or steamed. This also can be eaten raw. :) (quite interesting). This good vegetable is high in vitamin C as well as dietary fiber, it also contains multiple nutrients with potent anti-cancer properties. It is much better if we eat this raw, steamed or stir-fried. According to some studies by boiling broccoli, the effect of a suspected anti-carcinogenic compound found in it will lessen its effect.
Since some people don't like the taste of broccoli, I somewhat experimented ways to cook it in such a manner that it can look and taste delicious rather than just a plain and boiled one. Today, I prepared a peppery buttery broccoli :) You can try it too! Here's my recipe
CHICKEN BROCCOLI
Ingredients:
1 medium broccoli flower, cut into pieces
1 chicken breast, cut into strips
1 medium white onion, cut lengthwise
3 cloves garlic, minced
2tbsp butter
1tsp ground black pepper
1tsp salt to taste
1 cube chicken bouillon
2tsp all purpose flour, dissolve in 3tbsp water
How to Cook:
- Melt butter in low heat
- Saute onions and garlic until golden brown
- Put chicken breast, saute for 5mins, add chicken bouillon
- Add pepper and salt to taste
- Add broccoli, add 1/2 cup water, cover and simmer for 5-7mins
- Add dissolved flour
PLATE AND SERVE!
