This is a fairly broad term that may include items to be called cookies, pastries, cakes, puddings, biscuits, or pastries in English and are usually made from rice or sticky rice. The term kueh or kuih is widely used in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore to refer to sweet or savory desserts. Though referred to by another name, one tends to find different versions of similar kuih in neighboring countries, such as Vietnam, Thailand, and Myanmar.
