FROZEN FRUIT POPS

These frozen pops are the coolest treats going. Kids love them and adults might get a bang out of them too.

Ingredients:

5 large, ripe strawberries
1 banana
1 cup plain yogurt
1/2 cup applesauce
1/4 cup apple juice
1 tablespoon honey

Equipment:

measuring cups and spoons
cutting board
small, sharp knife
medium mixing bowl
mixing spoon
five 5- ounce paper cups
aluminum foil
5 wooden ice-cream sticks

Makes 5 Pops

  1. Put the strawberries on the cutting board. With the small, sharp knife, remove the green stems from the berries. Chop the strawberries into small pieces. Put the pieces in the medium bowl.

  2. Peel the banana and put it on the cutting board. With the small sharp knife, chop the banana. Add the chopped banana to the strawberries in the bowl.

  3. Add the yogurt, applesauce, apple juice, and honey to the fruit in the bowl. With the spoon, stir well to combine the ingredients.

  4. Spoon the mixture into the 5 ounce paper cups, dividing the mixture evenly among the cups.

  5. Cover each cup with aluminum foil. Make a hole in the center of each piece of foil (I usually poke a hole with a wooden tooth pick) and insert a wooden stick through the hole down the center of the mixture to the bottom of the cup.

  6. Set the cups in the freezer. Freeze until the pops are completely frozen, about 4 hours. To serve, remove the foil and peel off the paper cup. Enjoy!
