Few days ago we had a home made pizza night at home. We prefer making our own because we can choose healthier options plus the benefit of making them to our preference, and not to mention the money saving.

I usually make everything at home from scratch this way I can be sure what my family is eating and it's a great opportunity for everyone to come together putting different variation of toppings.

Starting with the dough, that needs to be prepared earlier to ensure it gets enough time to rise.

Making the dough

Ingredients:

3 ¾ cups of plain flower
2 ½ tsp dry yeast
¾ tsp salt
¾ tsp sugar
1 cup warm water.

Place all the ingredients in a mixer with a hook attachment and mix until it becomes a dough and leave it in a warm place to rise.

It's a great opportunity for kids to get involved in preparing a meal and their more likely to eat it if they help make it.

Emily had great fun creating her very own pizza.
