Eastern Easter- Eggs - Lamb Meatloaf (Drob) - Decorations & Gifts #1

Hello, Steemians!

Yes, I know that many of you Steemians have already celebrated the Easter (I hope you have had a time of peace and quiet and enjoyed the feast), but in some Eastern European countries like Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, the Republic of Moldova, even Russia is celebrating this weekend. This year is one week between the Catholic Easter and the Orthodox Easter. But it does not matter, in every country people are preparing to welcome the Sacred Holiday, properly.
Easter is one of the oldest and most important celebration of Christianity that brought to mankind the hope of salvation and eternal life through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. It is also important and beautiful this feast because it has the gift of bringing the family together and is full of traditions .

The Christians in my country consider that it is important to prepare yourself for Easter by fasting and prayer.
Housewives make general cleaning and decorate the house with fresh spring flowers, floral arrangements, figurines, candles. From the meat lamb they cook different kinds of food: steak, vegetable soup with spring herbs, meatloaf, etc.
One of the most awaited moments is to dyed eggs.

Do you know that the egg apparently in ancient times was a symbol of rebirth and new stronger beginnings.
Accepted by Christianity, red eggs symbolize the blood shed by the Son of God into salvation of mankind and the miracle of His rebirth.
Usually eggs are painted in red, but they have also begun to be painted in other colors, such as yellow, green, blue, purple.

I like painting eggs in with natural colors, obtained from plants, and one of my favorites are onion shells.
So , let's make the story short, and tell you how I painted the eggs, today.
You will need:

  • 15-20 eggs (I used 15 eggs)
  • 3-4 hands of red or yellow onion peel (I used red onion)
  • 1 tablespoon of vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon of coconut oil or any vegetable oil
  • a pot for boiling the eggs
  • a bowl and a strainer
  • a tablespoon
  • some napkins
    How to do it:
Put the onions's shells in the pot with 1 liter of water, one day before painting the eggs and let them soak. The next day, squeeze the water in a bowl, put the eggs in the pot, pour the water over them, add the vinegar and boil for 10 minutes. When the eggs are boiled, use the spoon and take them out and put them on some napkins. Allow them to cool for 5 minutes then soak a napkin in oil and rub the eggs to get shine.
    See the steps below:

You can serve with radishes and spring onions, tomatoes, peppers, whatever you like.
Enjoy!!!
I will soon be back with the other posts I mentioned at first in the post's title.
Happy Easter to all the Romanians on Steemit platform.

Yours, Didutza
