Timphan, Traditional Tasty Cake of Aceh

Timphan is a local snack or Aceh typical snacks made from basic ingredients of sticky rice, banana and coconut milk. Food made with a wrapper layer of banana leaves is also suitable to be enjoyed as an appetizer and must be there on holidays. The tradition of eating timphan in the feast became a tradition of heredity.

There is a content dish on the timphan consisting of chicken egg, wheat flour, young coconut and others. In the making phase, timphan is divided into two. The first part is the manufacture of the outer timphan and the second part is the making of the inner timphan content material.

Steps to Create Timphan

  2. Once the dough is finished, complete the timfan fillings by mixing the shaved eggs with sugar until dissolved and thickened. Use the mixer to make it more practical.
  3. Then add the mixture of eggs and sugar that has thickened with wheat flour that has been sifted smooth and coconut milk thick. Stir well until evenly distributed.
  4. Next enter the jackfruit chop into the dough material timphan contents followed by grated coconut, and pandan leaves. After that cook until done.
  5. Lift the mixture of the contents of the timphan then sprinkle with vanilli and stir once more until well blended and let it cool.
  6. Put it into steaming, wait until cooked. Lift and serve.
  7. Timphan steaming process is not so long it only takes up to 15 minutes.

Currently Timphan is provided in many coffee shops with various flavors. External content of timphan is made from banana and pumpkin, the inside contents consist of coconut or srikaya. But for the wrappers still rely on banana leaves, so the aroma remains fragrant and delicious.
