Folk it ! Steemit Challenge Contest - ''El Aguacate - César Guerrero'' - Pasillo Ecuatoriano

Hello Steemit !

I got invited by @gabchik to participate in this interesting contest , it consists in singing something from your folklore , i find this to be a very nice idea because it is a great cultural exchange , and be able to hear ''new'' music from other traditions.

As I am Ecuadorian , and from Guayaquil specifically ,the style of music that identifies my city the most is the ''pasillo'' .

This song is called ''El Aguacate'' , composed in 1918 , this title translates to ''The Avocado'' , it doesn't have anything to do with the theme of the song , the story says the composer wrote the song under an avocado tree and put the title as a joke, there are different versions of the story though :)

The winner is decided by the number of upvotes in the comment section of the contest post , so if you like it please give me an upvote there :)

I don't really know how to play pasillo , so this is just a little guitar/voice soft version :

Lyrics:

''El Aguacate''

Tu eres mi amor
mi dicha y mi tesoro
mi solo encanto
y mi ilusion

Ven a calmar mis males
mujer no seas tan inconstante
no olvides que alguien sufre y llora
por tu pasion

Yo te dare mi amor mi fe
Todas mis ilusiones tuyas son

Pero tu no olvidaras
Al infeliz que te adoro
Al pobre ser que un dia fue
Tu encanto tu mayor anhelo
Y tu ilusion

Poor Translation:

''The Avocado''

You are my love
My joy and my treasure
my only charm
and my illusion

Come and calm my sickness
woman , don't be so fickle
Don't forget that someone
cries and suffer
for your passion

I will give you my faith , my love
All my illusions are yours

But you wont forget
the poor devil that adored you
The poor being that once was
your charm , your biggest desire
and your illusion

This is a pasillo played properly , by the most important singer of this type of music : Julio Jaramillo

Thanks for listening

Cheers
